Benjamin Arnold's 2nd wife:
(Missouri's mother)
Louisa Amanda Hart
Benjamin Arnold age 29 and Louisa Hart
age 20 were married on July 20, 1851.
Through this union they had five children,
Missouri and her four siblings.

♥ Wedding Anniversary December 13, 1877 ♥

On December 13, 1877 was the loving union of Missouri "Sue" Arnold and Robert Emmet Simpson. Robert was born in Belfast, Antrim Ireland. Through this union they brought into this world 10 children, two of which died in infancy. One infant was possibly named Charles.

Their first born (1879)son Peyton passed away Nov 2, 1921.

Two years later, suddenly tragedy struck. Missouri and Emmet's fifth born (1886)son Henry(my grandpa) had died away from injuries due to a horrific car/train accident on Thanksgiving Day in 1923. Her son was only 37. All who knew and loved her son shared in this heartbreak. This was a very close loving family. Her son had co-owned the Hope Ice Company in Hope, Arkansas with his brother's (Pat Simpson).

My dad (Herb, Henry's son 7th child) was about 19 when Missouri "Sue" (his grandma) passed away. I do know that her sons and daughters who are my dad's aunt's and uncle's were very close like moms and dad's to my dad and their children and his cousins were like sisters and brothers. The ones I got to know who were older and extended, were an example of this loving, giving, charming, protective, helpful, standup, compassionate, humorous, goodhearted, true, descent, religious, family who went on before them. Family who I never got to meet, I knew through my dad. He loved his family and they loved him.

I found a letter to Missouri from her mother. "Mother had not written for a while, no paper". They were not living together. Missouri was just of the age not long before she got married. Benjamin her father, must have passed away. The letter is of a poor copy. It took my dad and three other cousins to figure out the handwriting style and then letter. A unique and lovely font for her handwriting. When I can I will add some of the letter. It is difficult to read. Her mother Louisa's second husband was William Davis and families.

Held in our hearts ♥

Lovingly,
Your Great-Granddaughter,

Cousin Gwen Simpson Morgan noted in a letter to my dad how aunt Ella wrote letters to him all the time because he was gone from home in the service. Everyone worried about him as a kid now in the army with no mama and daddy. So family wrote letters and so did he wrote as well. They all loved letter writing to stay in touch.
